Our technology AnCor® goes far beyond existing adhesives. It allows for a closure robust, fast, and secure, in situations where conventional adhesives fail. It anchors itself in living tissue to prevent leaks and thus post-operative complications.

Surgical adhesives are disappointing and ineffective because they adhere very poorly to biological tissue.

Intuition becomes scientific breakthrough
Bertrand began a science thesis at the University of Lausanne, during which he made a clear diagnosis: adhesives only adhere to the surface layers of biological tissue, which explains their weak adhesion.
He then puts forward a fundamental hypothesis: “To bond, a surgical adhesive must anchor itself in biological tissue.”
In collaboration with polymer chemistry laboratories in Bordeaux, Pau, and Mulhouse, he transformed this idea into technology:

The first product developed using AnCor® is an OTC product that will go on sale in 2026 in the United States and in 2028 in Europe and Asia. COHESIVES has signed an exclusive license agreement for the AnCor® technology patents with a major player in the international OTC market. The industrial partner is responsible for finalizing the development and marketing of the product.
